Ahmad Aghaei (AA) is a long type of Iranian pistachio which can vary depending on its shape, length and size. This type of Iranian pistachio is the most flavorful in eastern Asia, particularly in China and India.
AA pistachios are available in various sizes: 20 – 22, 22 – 24, 24 – 26, 26 – 28, 28 – 30.

Akbari also belongs to the long-shaped type of Iranian pistachios. It is known as the most expensive and exclusive type among all Iranian pistachios. Two of the characteristics that differentiate this type from others are the height of its head and also its length.

Badami is another type of long Iranian pistachio but shorter than the Ahmadaghaei. Its kernel is very similar to an almond.

Kallehghouchi (Jumbo) pistachios are larger and longer compared to round pistachios. Kallehgouchi pistachios have a long history in cultivation as they have been growing for more than 4000 years.

This type of Iranian pistachio is naturally closed. Through the process of shelling, closed shell pistachios will have natural kernels through a mechanical procedure. In fact, all types of pistachios have closed shell types and yield kernels at a 48-50% harvest rate.
